Opening day is a time of hope, a time of optimism for prosperity in the new season that is before you. And as is the case with the 2016 Boston Red Sox, opening day went exactly according to plan. Six strong innings (with 10 k’s) from Price, sharp bullpen work, homers from Mookie & Big Papi and Kimbrel locking things down in the 9th. Dave Dombrowski couldn’t have sketched out a more perfect scenario to start out the season. Well, maybe the weather could have been a little bit warmer, but I guess it’s better snow, right?
Adam Kaufman from Boston.com joined The Reverend Jim Churchill, Sterling Pingree and guest host Pete Werner of the Bangor Daily News to talk about Red Sox opening day; would David Ortiz reconsider retirement if he has a big season; the Boston Celtics final stretch and who he would’ve kidnapped to help Boston Sports. (Disclaimer: We don’t believe that Adam would kidnap anybody, nor has he before. This was a fictitious kidnapping based on the 1996 Boston sports cult classic, Celtic Pride.)
