The Major League Baseball All-Star game, whether or not it should determine who gets home field advantage in the World Series, is the best All-Star game in sports. It’s the only game that actually feels like a competition. The NBA has a glorified pick up game where defense is a dirty word and nobody gives an effort (except Russell Westbrook). The Pro Bowl selection show where Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice pick their teams like they’re in the school yard is infinitely better than the game itself. The MLB game is still a game and the generally relaxed atmosphere only adds to its charm. Chad Finn of the Boston Globe joined Jeff Solari and Aaron Jackson on Tuesday to talk about their favorite memories from the mid-summer classic and the Boston buzz around this year’s contest.
