The one silver lining of finishing at the bottom of the American League East two years in a row is that you will get a pretty high draft choice. Last year the Red Sox picked 7th overall and took NCAA home run leader Andrew Benintendi. This year the Sox rolled the dice with 17-year old Jason Groome of Barnegat High School in New Jersey. Some has Groome as the most talented player in the draft but questions about his signability and his make up caused some teams some pause. Chris Hatfield of SoxProspects.com joined Jim Churchill, Jeff Solari and Aaron Jackson to run down the Red Sox draft and the chances of signing Groome.
